We’re turning 20! That’s older than the iPhone, Android smartphones and even Twitter. When Geeks on Wheels first launched, floppy disks were still a thing, Amazon’s most-sold tech item was the iPod Nano and Google’s most-searched tech item was the Xbox 360.
Thank you to our amazing customers and team members who have shaped our journey and what it is we do so special and rewarding. A lot of things have changed since our mobile technicians first started visiting Kiwi homes and offices. But, one thing has remained unwavering, our commitment to providing an exceptional customer experience. All whilst providing solutions, knowledge and confidence to everyday users of technology. Throughout our 20th year, we will be taking a trip down memory lane reflecting on some of the people and milestones that have shaped our journey as a company and made the last 20 years so extraordinary. Since opening the doors in 2005 our mobile technicians have provided invaluable tech support and assistance to thousands of Kiwis across the country. Ever since day one we have been wanting to offer tech support to more people in more places. Our helpline service lets us reach those hard-to-reach areas, but nothing quite compares to onsite support from an expert Geek. Coming into our 20th year we now service 13 locations across New Zealand, after beginning with just one service area in 2005. Our technicians are now spread across the country and we’re excited to see where Geeks on Wheels will be launching next. - More than 290,000 onsite visits

- Our first customer
Not long after placing our first advertisement in the Wellington Yellowpages the phones began ringing and Geeks on Wheels first customer was helped with email issues and antivirus installation. We are proud to say that 20 years later Barbara is still a loyal customer to this day. - Expanding our service areas
After laying down our foundations in Wellington and growing our team, it was time to give New Zealanders in other locations the tech support they deserve. This started with us opening two new locations in 2007. Namely, Auckland and Christchurch. - 20,000th customer
By early 2010 and after an exciting almost 5 years in business we had helped 20,000 customers. A milestone for any small business. - Launch of the Geek Helpline
Our remote support service has been a game changer for businesses and individuals across the country. Each day our helpline technicians help with scores of tech issues big and small. Saving customers time and money and ensuring they can get back to using their devices as quickly as possible. - Geek+ membership
Following on from the success of the Geek Helpline and realising the need for ongoing tech support for business and domestic users in New Zealand Geek+ was born. Our unique wrap-around tech support membership. Offering unlimited remote support, device health and security checks and discounted onsite visits, it is peace and mind neatly packaged in a bundle. There are far too many amazing milestones to list, including the launch of GeekSafe™ our scam protection service, continued growth into various regions including our recent arrival in Nelson and numerous additional service offerings including Security Camera installation.
The last 20 years have been amazing and our wonderful customers have been there to support us every step of the way. We couldn’t have done it without you and look forward to making more memories in the years to come.
